LEAN ON THE MEMORIES OF MY DISAPPEARING BODIES is a reflection about black bodies in which memories are mixed with entities and identities, like a blanket that lean on me. Memories in which there is no more distinction between our bodies, dreams, desires and reality. The starting point is the “THE NAMES PROJECT” in which collective patchwork have been created as a political and love statement in memory of the beloved who died of AIDS. Sharing, valorization and transformation are the key values of my upcycling and community couture practice to create a sense of togetherness with local communities. The beneficiaries of the Rehabilitation Center have been involved into different upcycling workshops and on the creation of the final pieces. The project is part of the residency “SUPPORT” with VU.CH, the art at the hospital, by Chuv Lausanne, Positive Life Festival and Bad Posture.
